Everyone else does it!

Everyone has heard the term "Everyone else does it". If you haven't, then your probably living under a rock. Anyways, the term is now used nowadays for people to use as an excuse for doing something that probably shouldn't be done. Sort of like the slang word "Yolo" meaning "you only live once". A prime example can be when people drink or smoke and you get offered to try it, many will say yes and the "everyone else does it" line. And by all means if you drink or smoke I support whatever makes you happy! It's your lifestyle and you have the right to be happy!  But that is what pretty much "everyone else does it" means.

  1. Erik, I agree with what you are saying. I have heard people using this line while they are in the situation of doing something that is not right.

  2. Your cartoon clip was good! You are right about people using that excuse. It has been used for as long as I can remember, that is probably why I created it as a topic! By the time you are a teen however, for the most part, people do know the difference between what is right and wrong, but this time in a person's life is also a time where they really want acceptance and probably that is why we find so many movies that show this type of situation and consequences that occur...

  4. I agree with what you're saying Erik. A lot of people use that line way too much because the situation they are in and that's all what some people say.

  5. That's is very true about everyone using it as an excuse to do something, usually something that shouldn't be done. Most of the time its a pointless situation that could lead to very bad consequences.

  6. I completely agree with you Erik. Like I also explained in my post, that term/phrase in nowadays being used for peer pressure. I personally do not think that is right but do agree with you on that people should do what makes them happy! But not to an extreme or out of control way that could lead to an unhappy or difficult life.
